Here are some links to our Self-Portrait assignment:
As a PDF, needs Adobe Reader, which most computers come with pre-installed.
Photo I’s current assignment can be found here in pdf format, and here in Powerpoint format.
Also, you could check out the new Photoshop.com, if you don’t have the software at home, but you do have a good internet connection, it could be a real nice way to work on photos elsewhere.

Photo I, here’s a copy of your “Lines” assignment. You need the free Adobe Reader in order to open it. It’s a quick download.

Also, here are some pretty good pictures taken at the DNC in Denver this past week. (Not by me)
The links in the Blogroll to the left bring you to contemporary photographers who tend to work in series. This means that each photographer narrows down their subject matter, and then explore that subject matter as far as they can. In most cases they are seeking to understand their subject and fully express ideas and emotions through that subject.
Choose a single series from each photographer’s work, and answer the following for that series:
- What techniques do you see the photographer using throughout the series? (Look at how they tend to light the scene, how the photographs are composed, how they deal with color, etc.)
- Considering a single series, what ideas is the photographer expressing about her subject?
- What is the emotional tone of the series?
- What did you learn about making a photo from looking at these?
When you’ve finished, save your writing as a Word document in the P:/Student/Vartabedian/Period 4/Your name folder.
Begin planning a series of photographs of your own. Gather images you’ve already captured and begin shooting new ones.
Please go to this form and fill out the class survey. This information helps me know how to plan our assignments and lets me know a bit more about you.
